The idea to develop the workshop appeared as an answer to the spiritual need of people. Not everybody could record the talks of Fr Andrew Lemeshonok (held since 1994) so the parishioners were asking for copies of audiocassettes with Father Andrew’s talks. Fr Andrew put nun Joanna (Orlova) in charge of audio and video archives. Soon afterwards the workshop had to accomplish another task: restoration of the talks given by Archimandrite Sophronios (Sakharov). The audiocassettes with the recordings were old but very valuable… Seeing our love to the words of Fr Sophronios, the Lord blessed our issuing CDs with the “Collection of talks by Fr Sophronios” in two volumes (2005) through the council of elders of St John the Forerunner Monastery in Essex. About sixty talks of the well-known theologian of the 20th century were recorded on the two discs. With God’s help, the recording studio was formed gradually. The first audiocassettes issued by the studio were “Akathist to St Martyr John the Soldier”, “Akathist to the Inexhaustible Chalice icon of the Mother of God”, audio play “St Martyr Grand Princess Elisabeth Feodorovna Romanova”. The first documentary “The Path of Love” was shot in 2006, and the film “There’s No Other Way” was issued in 2007 on DVD. The studio has been working over issuing talks and sermons, audio books and audio plays, shoots and publishes documentaries. “The Brethren”, a movie shot by our studio won the 1st prize at a contest of documentary films “Pokrov” in Kyiv. A new film is being prepared for publication. Its title is “The Leading Role” and it is directed by Vitaly Lyubetsky.

All the crew of the studio gathered on February 3 to congratulate each other on the anniversary.

Vitaly Lyubetsky: Praise the Lord that there is such a studio. It is remarkable that people need our films. Praise the Lord that we can introduce the Orthodox world outlook to the people. I am a director and as long as I feel what is most important for the younger generation I will speak to them.

Such eagerness is hard to observe elsewhere. May the Lord help you so that your capabilities would grow and your desires would not fade.

We have a friendly and cozy atmosphere in our studio. We used to be a workshop at first but then we grew into a studio. People who work here are different. This is fairly understandable as all are creative with their own experience and their own views. We have approached this day with God’s help. And I think we will grow on and on and on…
